Hello to all those lovely, wonderful, sleep-deprived parents out there!
My name is Kim and I’m a Mum of 2 cheeky-eyed toddlers. I love my girls so, so much but I’ll be honest – they drive me insane every, single day! Parenting is tough. Full stop.
But parenting is tougher when your child doesn’t sleep. When my girls came along, I suffered all the normal anxieties of becoming a new Mum but coupled with lock-down my sleep and mental health took a beating. I was prepared for the sleep deprivation of motherhood but not the relentlessness nature of it all. And like everyone, I compared…
Compared my situation to my friends and their little ones asking questions like, why was their baby sleeping and mine wasn’t? I beat myself up so much wondering what I was doing wrong? Was there something different about my child? Why did I feel like this? I wanted that newborn bubble feeling everyone talked about but I found it difficult to embrace.
So I started to read a lot about the science of sleep and how it shapes and develops from newborn babies right through to adulthood. I applied the things I learnt with my own children and am so thankful I could support them in getting as much sleep as they needed. From that moment, I was hooked and I imagined the buzz and satisfaction of being able to help others with the same needs.
